On September 12, 850 juniors descended upon the Town of Avon today for the 10th-annual AHS celebration of community involvement: Junior Day of Caring.

More than 1.3 million US juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered this year's National Merit Scholarship Program and seven AHS students earned a spot on the list of 16,000 Semifinalists.

Thanks to the valuable insights brought forward by dedicated ML teachers, Avon Education Foundation has provided funding to purchase multilingual reading materials for all Avon school libraries.

Avon is participating in a pilot program called ILEARN Checkpoints, an initiative by the IDOE designed to help students from Grades 3 to 8 in assessing their progress in key skills and concepts in English/Language Arts and Math.

The NOVA Run Club Fall Season is for any ACSC students in grades 1 through 6 to promote the sport of distance running in our community. The session runs from September 5 through October 10.

Avon Schools district leaders, family, and friends gathered on May 13 to celebrate 24 employees who are retiring this year. In total, these individuals dedicated 552 years of service to Avon.

Avon Schools recently named three new principals and one new assistant principal. Each of these individuals will fill positions vacated by principals who have taken on new challenges.

Avon’s kindergarten through sixth grade students have spoken. In August 2025, when AIS East and West open their doors as elementary schools, students will walk into Evergreen Elementary and Willow Elementary.

Parent-teacher conferences will take place for grades k-8 on September 28 and 29. Students will have school in the morning. During the afternoon, parents will attend conferences and students will complete e-learning assignments. Here are the details.

Cedar students had fun racing around the track at the Cedar Fun Run last Friday.  They also competed in egg races, played freeze dance, and found some shade under the trees.  This event is the main fundraiser for our PTO.
