Avon Board Celebrates Orioles

The last few Board meetings and working sessions of the school year are usually busy affairs because there are so many student and staff achievements to celebrate. The May 6 meeting was no exception. The Avon Board of School Trustees celebrated eight separate groups and individuals for their high achievement and academic growth.

Avon Indoor Winds, World Guard, and Drumline

The board celebrated Indoor Winds and World Guard for their incredible season. They each won state and national titles. Drumline also won state and finished in third place at nationals.

Avon Dance had another incredible season. The large ensemble won it's fourth state title in a row this spring.

Avon High School had its first ever national JAG champion. This incredible student is also the first ever national winner from the state of Indiana.

Two AHS students brought home first place finishes from the state HOSA competition and the team won Most Professional Chapter.

Cedar Elementary

A Cedar Elementary student and educators presented to the Board about the work they've done to make related arts accessible to all students.

AIS East

Students and educators from AIS East presented to the Board about the progress students are making in IXL and how they're growing in confidence as they track their progress.
